Within the framework of the awareness days on cyber risks related to the use of social media, the evening of Sunday, May 5, 2024 was held at the level of the Center for Network Systems, Information and Communication Systems, Television Education and Distance Education at the University of Skikda, and under the supervision of the University rector, Professor Boufendi Tawfiq, the launch of the awareness days on cyber risks. Related to the use of social media from 05 to 10 May 2024, during these awareness-raising days, scientific seminars are presented by professors and specialists in the field of law and security, and the establishment of information security cell offices for communication at the college and institute levels throughout this period to sensitize components of the university family to the danger. This phenomenon, organizing workshops with administrators of the university’s social media pages and conducting a questionnaire regarding this phenomenon.

In his speech, Mr. Rector of the University pointed out that social media is considered one of the most important means of communication available at the present time, warning that there are risks that must be avoided. For this reason, this awareness campaign was organized, which aims to fortify all the components of the university family to avoid the disadvantages of social media, as confirmed by Mr. The University Rector emphasized the importance of everyone’s combined efforts to raise awareness among various members of the university family about the necessity of positive use of social media, followed by an intervention by the Deputy Director in charge of External Relations and the Director of the Center for Network, Communication and Distance Education Systems about this phenomenon and the precautions that must be taken to avoid it not occurring. Any problem, then a discussion will be opened in front of the audience about the problems of this phenomenon.
